complete electronic products, from idea to manufacture

We take hardware products from idea to manufacture-ready for seed, Series A and growth-stage companies across the US. Industrial design, electronics, firmware and companion apps from one team, so the product works as a whole rather than as parts from four suppliers. Built and tested in our own lab, shipped to your door. You keep all the IP.

the whole product, one team

industrial design

Our industrial designers shape how your product looks, feels and is used: concept sketches, form studies, ergonomics and color, material and finish, through to production CAD ready for injection molding. Because they sit next to the electronics engineers, the design leads and the board fits it, not the other way round.

electronics & PCB design

Circuits, power and PCB layout designed for manufacture from the outset: DFM review built into layout, components checked against your production volumes, designs validated against IPC-A-600, and ultra-low power where the battery matters. A board your CM can quote and build without a redesign cycle.

embedded firmware

Embedded firmware written by the same team that designs your hardware, so nothing gets lost between board and code. Low-power operation, sensor integration and connectivity, tested on real boards in our lab.

companion apps

Mobile apps that talk to your device, built by the same team as the firmware, as we did for the AI sports wearable below.

prototypes you can hold

Looks-like and works-like prototypes built in our own lab with SLA printing, CNC machining, vacuum forming and PCB assembly, so you can put real units in front of investors, users and test labs.

FCC & UL compliance

We design for FCC Part 15 and UL/IEC 62368-1 from the first schematic (plus CE and UKCA if you also sell in Europe), and manage formal testing through accredited labs, so certification doesn't trigger a late redesign.

kick-off to shipped product

A sports technology startup came to Fiddlie with an ambitious brief: a custom wearable for elite athlete performance tracking, combining high-frequency sensor fusion, AI-driven analytics, and a companion mobile app - built for the demands of professional training.

Fiddlie took full ownership of the complete stack - industrial design, PCB, embedded firmware, and mobile application - with no third-party handoffs. Within six weeks, a working prototype was capturing sensor data at 100Hz with 20 hours of continuous battery life, giving the client real data to validate their AI models against from the earliest stage.

I've worked with plenty of engineering firms who take your brief and disappear. Fiddlie were different - they genuinely cared whether the product was right, not just whether the spec was met. That made a real difference when we hit the inevitable difficult decisions during development.

~ Oliver, Wearable Startup CEO

Eight months after kick-off, the product had completed production and shipped to its first customers. Fiddlie remains their embedded engineering partner for ongoing hardware and software development.

Sector: Sports Technology. Engagement type: Full turnkey development - industrial design, hardware, firmware, mobile application.

how we work with you

Our lab has CNC machining, SLA printing, vacuum forming, automated PCB pick and place and conveyor reflow, so early iterations of both the housing and the electronics happen in-house. For production, EMC testing and certification we work with a vetted network of specialist manufacturers and labs.

your hours, your door

Calls and design reviews scheduled in your working day. Prototypes shipped direct to you, with shipping and import duties spelled out in every quote so nothing lands as a surprise.

one team, no handoffs

Industrial design, electronics, firmware, apps and prototyping under one roof. One project lead, one schedule, and nobody blaming another supplier when the parts don't fit.

manufacture-ready output

Every design is built for production from day one: enclosure CAD ready for tooling, boards IPC-compliant and BOM-optimized, all ready for your contract manufacturer, in the US or overseas, without rework.

your IP, transparent terms

NDA from first conversation. Fixed-price milestones with staged payments. All IP assigned to your company on completion, including any patents arising from the work.

our process

1. initial meeting

Meet with one of our engineers over video to discuss your project under NDA.

2. free fixed quote

We prepare a proposal in US dollars with payments spread out as we deliver.

3. project kick-off

Comprehensive alignment meeting to nail down specifications.

4. design & prototyping

Form, electronics and firmware developed together, with prototypes at each stage until the design is right.

5. production

We produce pre-production units for investor demos, field trials or FCC testing.

6. completion

Handover of produced demo units and all generated IP.

Typical engagements run from $20k–$200k over 3–12 months. We take on a limited number of new partnerships each quarter to ensure each client gets dedicated engineering resources.
